Syktyvkar State University

Syktyvkar State University was established in accordance September 24, 1971 Resolution of the RSFSR Council of Ministers № 580 from October 25, 1971.

The previous name of the university: Syktyvkar State University named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR has renamed the Syktyvkar State University on the basis of Resolution of the Russian Government dated 26 June 1993. The official name of the institution of higher education is not specified.

Syktyvkar State University was renamed the State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Syktyvkar State University” (HPE “SyktSU”) on June 24, 2002.
